Polaris RZR 170 Full Coverage UHMW Skid Plates by Factory UTV

The Polaris RZR 170 OEM undercarriage protection simply does not protect the underside of the 170. Factory UTV fully protects the RZR 170 with skid plates constructed from 3/8 inch UHMW (Ultra-High Molecular Weight) plastic. Significantly lighter than aluminum, Factory UTV skids offer full protection for the RZR 170. With the RZR 170’s ground clearance being at a premium Factory UTV skids will give excellent protection to the undercarriage of the 170. Due to UHMW’s very low coefficient of friction the Factory UTV skids will help easily slide over obstacles on the trail, where the stock 170 with it’s exposed frame rails and cabling will leave the 170 high and dry on even the simplest of obstacles. Factory UTV’s UHMW Skid Plates are the gold standard for UTV protection systems.

What is UHMW ?

UHMW means: Ultra High Molecular Weight, Ultimately it’s a density measurement. During its manufacturing process, the molecules of this plastic is compacted as densely and close together as possible. UHMW is roughly 100x times denser than HMW, and exponentially denser than ABS or other common plastics. Our UHMW is partially made from Recycled UHMW materials, making the constancy more rigid and impact absorbent then that of just fresh new plastic, allowing the perfect amount of limited flexing capability needed to endure impacts. Our UHMW has a very low Friction coefficient, meaning its very slippery in rough conditions, up there with Teflon and other abrasion resistant materials, but it has the impact resistance and density to back it up and withstand some of the harshest environments you can throw at it.
